Flame is a long-time resident in our lesson program. She is a 1993 Half-Arabian mare. Despite her being one of our bigger horses, she is perfect for our new timid riders, no matter how small. With her smooth gait, you will be sure to gain confidence on her! Flame loves being brushed and loves to be in front of the camera.
Keebler was born and raised right here on the farm, never left aside from going to horse shows! He is a 1995 purebred Arabian gelding, sired by Schaladdin and our of our own mare, Darbaski (deceased, some may know her as Hostess). Fun fact: Keebler's mom, "Hostess", was also a long time lesson horse for us! Keebler is quite the character. He is one of our go-to's for beginner riders. He also holds a record of bounciest horse in the barn, but don't let it scare you, we trust him with all our heart as he is as safe as can be!
Double Down is one of our most well-winning lesson horse! He is a 1997 Half Arabian gelding, sired by Standing Room Only and out of the mare Beignet. Double Down has won countless national, regional, and local championships in Halter, Side Saddle, and Hunter Pleasure with us! The "++++" in his name represents his Legion of Masters and the "//" is his Legion of Excellence. Now retired from showing, he is a happy-go-lucky guy and does most anything a rider will ask of him. Although Double Down is a bit bouncier to ride, he is a great horse to learn how to ride a show horse at the intermediate/advanced level
Zee has been in our lesson barn for quite some years now! He is a 2003 purebred Arabian gelding by Aul Magic +/ and out of the mare Belle Star LF. Zee is quite the character! A lot of attitude in his compact body. He will definitely give you a work out, teaching you how to use your legs and strengthen your riding muscles. Zee has taught many of our current competitors how to ride & show in the arena!
Adonis is our handsome "semi-truck" of the lesson horses. He is currently our only Quarter Horse in the program and is sired by Invest Me out of the mare Chips Sierra Star. He was born in 2001. Don't let his size fool you-- Adonis has an extremely smooth gait and you may not even realize you're trotting! He has been used in 4H and IHSA in the past but will teach you from the beginner to advanced level!
Dice is an old show pro! He is a 1999 Half-Arabian Gelding sired by LM Boardwalk and out of the mare L & M Luckys Freckles. Dice has a very sweet and relaxed disposition. He can pack around a new rider with ease or step up to the plate to teach someone the ropes of horse-showing! With Dice's unique coloring, no wonder he is a fan favorite!
Fabio is one of our newer lesson horses! He is impeccably bred by the Pegasus Arabians. He was born in 2006 by the sire Masquerade PA and the mare Charizmah. Prior to becoming a show horse, he showed extensively and successfully as a western pleasure horse! With that, you can say he wants to go slow! Fabio has a sweet disposition and loves to be loved on. Even though his favorite speed is slow, he still takes an intermediate/advanced level rider. We look forward to making many memories with this incredible guy!
Shniya is another new kid on the block here at the farm! She is a 2005 purebred Arabian mare, sired by the famous Sundance Kid V and out of the mare Famous Lady EA. She showed as a western horse majority of her life but gladly teaches intermediate/advanced riders how to ride hunt seat. She has also been Canadian National Champion Hunter Pleasure Walk/Trot! Shniya is very responsive and can really teach you how to use your seat!
Jama is a real fun guy! He is a 1996 Half-Arabian Gelding sired by Phi Slama Jama and out of the mare TM Whisper. Jama has competed saddleseat his whole life but gladly goes both hunt seat and saddleseat! He is like a big goofy teddy bear. Jama is simple to ride and has an extremely smooth gait! He is great for teaching a rider how to rate their speed under saddle.
Thunder is a very chill lesson horse! He is sired by the famous Afire Bey V and out of the mare HL Glitter NGol, born in 1996. Like his pal Zee, Thunder takes a bit of leg to get moving. He has a very smooth gait and will go the speed you ask, although he prefers to be going slow. Thunder as you can tell is very photogenic!
